Emerging neuroprotective effects of N-palmitoylethanolamide besides its significant antinociceptive effects.

چکیده
PEA attenuates chemotherapy-induced neuropathies by attenuating endoneueral edema in myelinated nerve fibers [2]. Similarly, PEA improves distal motor latency in individuals with carpal tunnel syndrome [3]. Similar benefits have been noticed in pudendal neuralgias [4]. PEA also exerts beneficial effects in patients with multiple sclerosis by ameliorating neuropathic pain [5]. PEA also increases the latency between tonic clonic seizures and thus exhibits anti-epileptic activity [6].

Therapeutic effects of rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis L.) and its active constituents on nervous system disorders
Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis L.) is an evergreen bushy shrub which grows along the Mediterranean Sea, and sub-Himalayan areas. In folk medicine, it has been used as an antispasmodic, mild analgesic, to cure intercostal neuralgia, headaches, migraine, insomnia emotional upset, and depression. Different investigations have highlighted rosemary neuropharmacological properties as their main top...
متن کاملOpiate System Mediate the Antinociceptive Effects of Coriandrum sativum in Mice
Our previous study showed that Coriandrum sativum (CS) has antinociceptive effects, but the mechanisms that mediate this effect are not clear. The present study was designed to test the role of opiate system in the antinociceptive effects of CS on acute and chronic pain in mice using Hot Plate (HP), Tail Flick (TF) and Formalin (FT) tests and also to compare its effect with dexamethasone (DE...

متن کاملAntinociceptive effects of systemic paeoniflorin on bee venom-induced various 'phenotypes' of nociception and hypersensitivity.
Paeoniflorin (PF), one of the active chemical compounds identified from the root of Paeonia lactiflora Pall, has been well-established to exhibit various neuroprotective actions in the central nervous system (CNS) after long-term daily administration. In the present study, by using the bee venom (BV) model of nociception and hypersensitivity, antinociceptive effects of PF were evaluated by intr...
متن کاملFatty acid binding protein deletion suppresses inflammatory pain through endocannabinoid/N-acylethanolamine-dependent mechanisms
BACKGROUND Fatty acid binding proteins (FABPs) serve as intracellular carriers that deliver endocannabinoids and N-acylethanolamines to their catabolic enzymes. Inhibition of FABPs reduces endocannabinoid transport and catabolism in cells and FABP inhibitors produce antinociceptive and anti-inflammatory effects in mice. Potential analgesic effects in mice lacking FABPs, however, have not been t...
